Why are ferry bookings more expensive if you book from Britain?

I am booking to travel back from France on the same Sea France ferry as my sister. My sister lives in Germany and is booking on line from there. I live in England and am booking on-line from England. The cost of my booking is twice as much hers. Why is that?!
