Why did israel commit mass murder in 1956?

One reason for this phenomenon in Israel, and its recent reappearance, is legal precedent set by Israel's judiciary in the wake of the Kfar Kassem massacre in October 1956. During the 1956 War, orders were given to the army to place a strict curfew on Arab villages in the "Little Triangle"-a strip of land running along Israel's "narrow waist" border with the West Bank. In the late afternoon of October 29, Arabs from the village of Kfar Kassem were returning to their homes after working all day outside the village, unaware of the curfew that had been imposed. Soldiers enforcing the curfew summarily executed forty-nine Arab men, women, and children.
